As we navigate the winter season, we continue to thankfully reflect on our connection with you and those we partner with in rural Kenya and Uganda. This year, we celebrate our 25th Anniversary of your impactful giving and connections to East African rural communities. Stay tuned for how you can continue to participate in our Sustainability Plan throughout this year!

Black History Month

To celebrate Black History Month this February, we would like to connect you with the people and cultures of Africa through the Cascade African Film Festival. They help us see Africa through African lenses. The Festival started on February 6 and ends on March 7.

Pen Pal Exchanges

We would also like to introduce you to our Pen Pal Program (slide show) a vibrant experience happening with the Najijali Project. It is interculturally connecting our students with pen pals across America from Oregon, Washington, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and South Carolina. See our first, inspirational Zoom gathering. We invite you to become a pen pal and join this joyful journey of intercultural learning and connection.

2026 Cultural Exchange Trips

Are you ready for another volunteer adventure in beautiful Kenya? Two education working team trips are planned for 2026 in April/May and November. Submit our Volunteer Form and we will send you more details. Orientation has already started for both trips.

For those who won't be able to travel to Kenya, be ready to welcome our partners/leaders from Grace Resources for Community Action (GRECA) from Kenya during Fall season of 2026. They will bring real life stories to help us celebrate your impact in our work throughout the 25 years of service.
