Community Awareness

It will take a village for this program to be successful and help these teen mothers learn new skills and develop the confidence to rise up and take control of their future.

Community stakeholders are coming together to make this happen. Educators, healthcare professionals, business and community leaders have been coordinating efforts to provide resources to girls impacted by pregnancy. They are working collectively to support this group of girls.

There are deep cultural stigmas related to this issue of teen pregnancy in Kenya. Bringing awareness through efforts such as the Najijali Project will help improve the value of the girl child in East Africa.

By banding together, stakeholders are helping the wider community to understand the benefits of empowering girls to care for themselves and their children.
