Empowering Students Through Education and Leadership

Harambee Centre, in partnership with Grace Resources for Community Action (GRECA), provides scholarships to talented students from underprivileged backgrounds, helping them pursue their educational goals and build a brighter future. Each student receives up to $500 annually in tuition support. In collaboration with families and local communities, we also help cover essential expenses such as transportation, school supplies, and, in some cases, room and board.

Most of our scholarship recipients attend Chwele Girls High School in Kenya, a long-standing sister school of Mountainside High School in Beaverton, Oregon.

The Peace Ambassadors Club

Beyond financial assistance, we offer mentorship and leadership training to nurture the students’ personal and academic development. In 2013, with the support of Harambee Centre, our students founded the Peace Ambassadors Club—a youth-led initiative promoting community service, environmental stewardship, and peer mentorship.

Through projects like tree planting and the implementation of sustainable waste management systems, club members are actively making a difference. Many of these young leaders are now driving positive change in their communities, families, and across Kenya.
